Women for Westminster was founded in May 2017.
Clare is a Consultant at leading PR and Public Affairs firm Media House International and is Chief Operating Officer at think tank Parliament Street. She is the author of the chapter Any Man Politics in the 2015 book Smart Government, forwarded by Liam Fox MP. Clare envisioned and developed Women of Influence – a multiplatform series looking at how female leaders are shaping business, public life and our communities. She counts Sheryl Sandberg and Mika Brzezinski as key influences. This inspired her to launch the Women 4 Westminster campaign group, when Theresa May called for a snap election in April 2017. She has invaluable experience navigating the corridors of power in Brussels where she worked as a policy analyst and a staffer to Sean Kelly MEP. Clare grew up between Italy and the UK and is fully bilingual. She holds a degree in Philosophy and Politics from Oxford Brookes University.
Elizabeth works for a Royal College in central London, leading the President’s Office. She is Research Secretary for Parliament Street, and is a Conservative activist having stood for office in 2014, and has held a number of roles in the voluntary party, including as the first Policy Director of CF Women. She holds a degree in International Relations, a diploma in the Common Law, and a Masters in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs. In 2011 she was awarded the Woman of the Future – Public Service award presented at a ceremony attended by HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal. She is a former school governor, and is currently an elected governor of her local NHS Trust. She volunteers for a number of charities including Vision Africa, supporting girls to develop entrepreneurial skills.
